Platforms Are Dying
Platforms are dying. The gateway to your attention is changing hands.
Today
Platforms Decide for You
Have you noticed? What we watch and what we buy is really being decided for us by platforms.
Today
But Not for You
But platforms don't work for us. Their algorithms are built to keep you scrolling a little longer, and to show you a few more ads.
The Shift
The Gateway Moves
I think this is about to change. In the future, your personal gateway won't be a platform. It will be your own AI assistant.
The Shift
It's Your Agent
It's not just a chatbot. It's your agent. Whatever you want to watch, buy, or publish, you hand it over, and it gets it done. That brings a few changes.
Change 01
Ads Will Change
First, advertising will change. Ads used to buy your attention. From now on, your assistant compares and orders for you, so no one needs to see the ad at all. The real value is the sale. So today's ads will turn into commissions.
Change 02
Who Gets You Better
Second, assistants won't compete on who's smarter, but on who understands you better. Give the same sentence, the same request, to different assistants, and they'll read it and act on it differently. I call that difference taste.
Change 02
Choice Is Scarce
Because material production is bound to explode. When there's everything, what's scarce is knowing what to choose. So taste will become the most important thing.
What to Do
Back to Creating
So how should we respond? I think people need to return to what makes us human: building our own personal brand. Just make what you love, whether it's real products, ideas, songs, or novels. Make it different.
What to Do
Don't Chase the Algorithm
You no longer have to change yourself to please the algorithm. Other people's assistants will find you, as long as they share your taste. Sure, not everyone becomes a huge influencer. But you can be found by the small group of people who truly get you, and keep doing what you do.

Big Tech Is Building This Future
There are still plenty of details to work out. Does the assistant listen to you? Is it smart? Does it really understand you? Will it deceive you? That's exactly where big tech is competing right now. Whatever they do, everything they build is pushing this future into being.
That's my take. What do you think?
